AI Developer / AI Engineer

About the job

We are looking for an experienced AI Developer / AI Engineer to design and implement AI intelligence for our cloud-based application. Our backend APIs are built and maintained by an internal .NET Core team, and the frontend is handled by a ReactJS team. The AI developer’s role is to design AI solutions, prompts, models, and logic, and work closely with our engineering team to integrate these capabilities into the application. What You Will Focus On: • Designing AI use cases and workflows (not API coding) • Creating and optimizing prompts for LLMs • Defining AI architecture (RAG, embeddings, vector search, etc.) • Training, fine-tuning, or configuring AI models (where applicable) • Guiding the team on how AI should interact with Azure SQL data • Improving accuracy, relevance, and reliability of AI outputs • Advising on cost optimization and model selection • Validating AI responses and defining fallback strategies Technology Environment: • AI: Azure OpenAI / OpenAI APIs • Vector Search: Azure AI Search / embeddings • Data Source: Azure SQL • Cloud: Microsoft Azure • Frontend & Backend: Handled by internal teams Key Responsibilities: • Design LLM-based features (Q&A, summarization, recommendations) • Build prompt templates and response evaluation logic • Design RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines • Define metadata, embeddings, and chunking strategies • Test and validate AI outputs with real business data • Work with developers to hand over clear AI specifications • Document AI flows, prompts, and decision logic Required Skills: • Strong experience with Generative AI / LLMs • Hands-on experience with Azure OpenAI • Deep understanding of prompt engineering • Experience designing RAG and vector-based search • Knowledge of AI accuracy, hallucination control, and grounding • Ability to explain AI concepts clearly to non-AI developers Nice to Have: • Experience with Semantic Kernel / LangChain • Experience in enterprise or regulated environments • Knowledge of Responsible AI and data privacy • Prior work on AI copilots or enterprise chatbots.
