Your Role And Responsibilities As an Application Developer specializing in Mainframe Modernization, you will utilize your expertise in fundamental concepts and technologies related to both mainframe systems and modernization to drive application development. You will leverage your skills in developing codes for in-place mainframe modernization and migration of mainframe applications to cloud platforms. Your primary responsibilities will include: • Develop Mainframe Modernization Code: Develop codes for both in-place mainframe modernization and migration of mainframe applications to cloud platforms, including z-cloud, and support mainframe migration to other cloud environments. • Apply Technical Expertise: Utilize proficiency in various technologies, such as COBOL systems, Java, JSON, API, Microservices, SaaS, Edge, Off-premises applications, network security, Kubernetes, DevOps, Db2, CICS, WebSphere, and MQ, to deliver high-quality solutions. • Support Cloud Migration: Support the migration of mainframe applications to cloud platforms, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to services. • Implement Modernization Strategies: Implement modernization strategies to optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability. • Collaborate on Solution Delivery: Collaborate with teams to deliver modernized mainframe applications, ensuring alignment with business objectives and requirements. Preferred Education Master's Degree Required Technical And Professional Expertise • Mainframe Modernization Coding: Exposure to developing codes for in-place mainframe modernization and migration of mainframe applications to cloud platforms, including z-cloud. • Technical Proficiency: Exposure to various technologies, such as COBOL systems, Java, JSON, API, Microservices, SaaS, Edge, Off-premises applications, network security, Kubernetes, DevOps, Db2, CICS, WebSphere, and MQ. • Cloud Migration Support: Experience working with mainframe migration to other cloud environments, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to services. • Modernization Strategy Implementation: Exposure to implementing modernization strategies to optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability. • Multi-Technology Integration: Experience working with integrating multiple technologies, such as mainframe systems, cloud platforms, and modernization tools, to deliver high-quality solutions. Preferred Technical And Professional Experience • Proficiency in COBOL Systems: Exposure to utilizing COBOL systems for mainframe modernization, including code development and migration to cloud platforms. Familiarity with COBOL's role in modernization projects and its integration with other technologies. • Knowledge of Cloud Security: Experience working with network security measures in cloud environments, ensuring secure migration and integration of mainframe applications. Understanding of security protocols and compliance requirements in cloud-based systems. • Familiarity with DevOps Tools: Exposure to utilizing DevOps tools and methodologies for efficient application development, deployment, and maintenance in mainframe modernization projects. Understanding of DevOps principles and their application in cloud-based environments.
