Applied AI Engineer

About the job

As an Applied AI Engineer at Key, you will play a crucial role in taking AI and ML models from concept to production. Your primary responsibility will be to build scalable, reliable systems using Python, cloud services, and modern MLOps practices. You will have end-to-end ownership of delivering AI solutions while collaborating with backend and frontend teams to integrate AI into product experiences. • *Key Responsibilities:** - End-to-end ownership of production ML systems from prototype to live services - Implement, fine-tune, and optimize models for performance, latency, and cost, including LLMs for search and recommendation - Design, build, and maintain data and inference pipelines using MLOps principles for CI/CD, monitoring, and automated retraining - Collaborate with backend and frontend teams to integrate AI into product experiences - Design and maintain well-documented, scalable APIs and services to expose AI capabilities - Proactively improve AI infrastructure, model performance, and incorporate new techniques - Uphold quality via code reviews, testing, and documentation • *Qualifications:** - Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field - 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years deploying ML systems to production - Expertise in Python and ML libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn - Strong experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and their ML services (e.g., SageMaker or Vertex AI) - Solid understanding of API design and system architecture - Experience with LLMs, RAG systems, and vector databases is a strong plus - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English In addition to the above, Key values user obsession, excellence in execution, continuous learning, collaboration, and ownership.
