Job Description: Assistant Manager Payroll (Salary Management) Position Title: Payroll Assistant Manager – Salary Management Department: Finance / Human Resources Reports To: Head of Operation Location: Hyderabad , Telangana . Employment Type: Full-time Position Summary The Payroll Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the entire payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of salaries, statutory compliance, employee compensation, and payroll reporting. The role requires strong attention to detail, deep understanding of payroll regulations, and excellent coordination with HR, Finance, and external authorities. Key Responsibilities Payroll Processing & Administration • Manage end-to-end monthly payroll processing for all employees. • Validate attendance, leave records, overtime, incentives, and deductions. • Ensure accuracy in salary calculations and disbursement. • Handle off-cycle payments, final settlements, and reimbursements. Compliance & Statutory Requirements • Ensure compliance with labor laws and statutory regulations (PF, ESIC, PT, TDS, gratuity, bonus, etc.). • File monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory returns accurately and on time. • Coordinate with auditors and government authorities when needed. Data Management & Reporting • Maintain accurate employee payroll records and confidential data. • Generate payroll reports for management (cost analysis, variance reports, projections). • Reconcile payroll accounts with the Finance department. System Management & Process Improvement • Oversee payroll software systems and ensure correct configuration of salary structures. • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes for accuracy and efficiency. • Implement automation and workflow enhancements where possible. Employee Support • Address payroll-related questions and resolve discrepancies promptly. • Educate employees on salary components, tax declarations, and payroll policies. • Coordinate with HR for onboarding/offboarding payroll activities. Qualifications & Skills Education • Bachelor’s degree in finance, HR, Accounting, or related field. • Certification in payroll management is an advantage. Experience • 5–8 years of experience in payroll processing or compensation management. • Experience handling payroll for large employee volumes preferred. Technical Skills • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, taxation, and statutory compliance. • Proficiency in payroll software (SAP). • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas). Soft Skills • Strong analytical and numerical ability. • High attention to detail and accuracy. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
