Assistant Manager - Supply Chain Job Description Own end-to-end logistics operations to ensure on-time, in-full (OTIF) deliveries with error-free documentation for cross-border movements. The role spans order fulfillment, import/export compliance, transportation management, supplier collaboration on demand planning & production scheduling (for low-volume, high-mix shipments), and stakeholder query management—leveraging TMS and SAP to drive visibility, cost efficiency, and service excellence. Roles and Responsibility: • Order Fulfillment & Shipment Execution • Convert order demand to executable shipments; manage ATP/CTP dates, promise dates, and exceptions. • Coordinate with Customer Service, Planning, and Warehouses for picking, packing, staging, dispatching, and POD. • Drive OTIF performance with daily track & trace, exception handling, escalation, and recovery plans. • Balance low-volume realities with consolidation opportunities (e.g., LCL vs FCL decisions, hub consolidation, multi-stop routing). • Manage carrier bookings, appointments, and capacity planning for lanes under variable demand. • Import & Export Operations • Plan and execute international shipments end to end: booking, cut-off adherence, VGM (for ocean), CFS/port operations, and gateway movements. • Coordinate customs brokerage and ensure correct HS classification, valuation, origin, and licensing. • Ensure trade compliance (sanctions screening, restricted party lists, embargo checks) and adhere to Incoterms 2020 obligations. • Proactively align shipment cadence with production lot sizes and MOQ constraints from suppliers. • Lead process improvement and automation initiatives, including ERP workflow optimization and reporting automation using Power BI and Power Query. • Documentation & Compliance (Error-Free, Audit-Ready) • Prepare/validate all required documents. • Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading/AWB, Certificate of Origin (COO), Insurance documents, and destination-specific Conformity/Inspection certificates where applicable. • Ensure data integrity across documents (SKU/HS code, quantities, net/gross weight, values, Incoterms, consignee/notify party). • Maintain document control with versioning and audit trails, archival per statutory timelines. • Lead RCA/CAPA for documentation discrepancies, customs delays, or non-compliance events. • Transportation Management (TMS-Driven) • Use TMS for load planning, carrier tendering, rate selection, route optimization, and milestone tracking. • Manage carrier contracts, spot buys, lane setup, appointment scheduling, and freight audit & payment. • Implement visibility tools (track & trace, milestone SLAs) and drive carrier performance reviews with scorecards. • Optimize cost-to-serve (mode mix, container utilization, consolidation, detention/demurrage control). • Align shipment plans to supplier MPS/MRP and firm demand; negotiate feasible build plans under low-volume constraints. • Act as single point of contact for internal/external stakeholders: suppliers, forwarders/3PLs, brokers, finance, customer service, planning, and destination teams. • Handle queries on status, documents, compliance, charges, and delivery issues; communicate clear ETAs/ETDs and RAG status with mitigations. • Own SOPs for end-to-end processes; maintain process maps, controls, and standard work. • Lead risk assessments (geopolitical, port congestion, capacity constraints) and maintain contingency plans & alternate routing. Impact of the Role • Improved operational efficiency through automation and advanced analytics. • Enhanced visibility and decision-making via Power BI dashboards and KPI governance. • Strengthened compliance and governance across global supply chain processes. • Development of a skilled, future-ready team through guidance and capability-building.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
• 8–10 years of experience in supply chain, cross-border logistics.
