We operate at scale, handle high-volume time-series data, and are building agentic AI systems on top ... of real-world work signals. 🔍 Role Overview We are looking for a Backend Developer who builds for scale, thinks in systems, and takes ownership of production-ready deliverables. This role sits at the intersection of backend engineering, data pipelines, and applied AI—turning raw operational data into intelligent, automated workflows. 🛠️ Key Responsibilities ▪ Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js ▪ Build and optimize MySQL databases, schemas, and queries for high-volume workloads ▪ Develop data pipelines to transform raw activity data into ML-ready datasets ▪ Support and integrate AI / ML workflows into production systems ▪ Work with time-series data (activity logs, events, productivity signals) ▪ Build and manage CI / CD pipelines for reliable and repeatable deployments ▪ Operate and scale backend services on AWS infrastructure ▪ Ensure high availability, performance, and security of production systems ▪ Collaborate with product, frontend, and backend teams to ship end-to-end features ▪ Take ownership of design → implementation → deployment → monitoring ✅ Required Skills & Experience • 2–4 years of backend development experience with Node.js • Strong understanding of MySQL, indexing, and query optimization • Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, monitoring) • Experience building or maintaining data pipelines • Exposure to preparing data for machine learning use cases • Experience with CI / CD pipelines and production deployments • Understanding of time-series datasets and event-based architectures • Prior experience at a product-based company (SaaS preferred) • Strong ownership mindset—alignment between thinking, communication, and delivery • Passion for solving complex problems at scale ✨ Bonus / Nice-to-Have (AI-Focused Skills) ⭐ Experience with Python or Go for backend services, data pipelines, or AI / ML integrations ⭐ Experience with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) models ⭐ Familiarity with LLM orchestration layers and agent workflows ⭐ Hands-on experience building or integrating AI agents ⭐ Prior exposure to AI / ML systems (training, inference, or integration) ⭐ Experience with vector databases and embedding-based search ⭐ Understanding of latency, cost, and reliability trade-offs in AI systems ⭐ Experience with Python or Go for backend services, data pipelines, or AI / ML integrations 🎯 What We Value 💡 Strong backend fundamentals 💡 Production-ready systems over demos 💡 Ownership, clarity, and execution 💡 AI as a multiplier, not a crutch 🚀 Why Join Flowace 🌍 Build real-world AI-powered productivity systems 📊 Work with large-scale time-series data ⚡ High ownership, fast-moving product environment 📈 Opportunity to grow into a Staff / AI Backend Engineer role
