About the Role We’re looking for a Backend Developer with 3–5 years of experience to build and scale backend services using Golang. This role involves owning production APIs, databases, and system reliability, while working closely with product and AI teams in a remote, async-friendly environment. What You’ll Do • Build and maintain backend services in Golang for production use • Define service APIs using Protocol Buffers, enabling dual exposure via gRPC and REST • Design, evolve, and maintain backend APIs following versioning and compatibility best practices • Manage PostgreSQL schema design, migrations, and long-term schema evolution • Integrate backend systems with AI / LLM services to power medical education features • Troubleshoot production issues and improve performance, scalability, and reliability • Collaborate through GitHub pull requests, code reviews, and CI workflows • Write unit and integration tests while adhering to engineering best practices Required Experience • 3–5 years of backend development experience • Strong working knowledge of Golang in production environments • Solid understanding of REST APIs, HTTP fundamentals, and service-to-service communication • Hands-on experience with gRPC, including Protocol Buffers and code generation workflows • Strong experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases • Ability to work independently in a remote, async team setup Nice to Have • Experience exposing gRPC services via grpc-gateway • Interest or prior exposure to Healthcare or EdTech domains • Experience integrating or working alongside AI / LLM-based services • Familiarity with Docker, cloud platforms (AWS / GCP), and observability tools • Knowledge of authentication concepts such as JWT or OAuth What We Offer • High-ownership role working on real production systems • Remote-first, async-friendly work culture • Opportunity to grow into senior backend ownership
