Backend Engineer

Location: Trivandrum, Kerala Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: 30-40k Experience Level: 2-3 years About the Role: We are looking for a skilled Backend Engineer to design, develop and maintain scalable web applications. The ideal candidate has strong experience building robust backend services using Python Django and working with PostgreSQL databases. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers and other engineers to deliver high-quality, user-focused solutions. Responsibilities: - Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices. - Collaborate with senior developers to implement features and system enhancements. - Build and maintain backend services with Django. - Design RESTful APIs and backend business logic. - Work with databases and integrate them into application logic. - Implement authentication, authorization and role-based access control. - Attending and contributing to development meetings and team discussions. - Participate in code reviews and maintain technical documentation. Required Skills & Experience: - 2+ year of hands-on experience with Python Django / Django REST Framework. - Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and relational database design. - Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs. - Familiarity with Git and version control workflows. - Understanding of web security best practices. - Understanding of DevOps tools and workflows. Preferred Skills: - Knowledge of Docker and containerized deployments. - Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). - Exposure to microservices architecture. - Knowledge of testing frameworks.
