Role Description We are hiring a Backend Engineer (Python) with strong experience in search systems, SEO, and Google-oriented optimisation to work on our AI-driven search intelligence and optimisation platform. This role goes beyond traditional backend development. You will build search-aware backend services, work closely with SEO / GEO data pipelines, integrate Google Search Console driven insights, and design APIs that directly influence search visibility and performance. Key Responsibilities • Design and develop scalable backend services using Python & FastAPI • Build and optimise REST APIs and WebSocket-based real-time systems • Develop backend logic supporting SEO & GEO workflows (indexing, crawl analysis, ranking signals, metadata optimisation) • Integrate with Google Search Console, and search analytics pipelines • Work with PostgreSQL (including query optimisation and performance tuning) • Implement asynchronous workflows for high-volume search data processing • Design backend systems that support search visibility, crawl efficiency, and ranking performance • Containerise and deploy services using Docker • Contribute to frontend development where required, including integrating backend APIs, handling real-time data flows, and ensuring seamless frontend-backend coordination • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code with strong documentation Required Qualifications • 2+ years of professional experience in Python backend development • Strong experience with FastAPI or Flask • Working experience with React and a clear understanding of frontend-backend integration patterns • Practical knowledge of SEO fundamentals : • Crawlability & indexing • Metadata & structured data • Search performance metrics • Experience working with Google-centric search systems (GSC, ranking analysis) • Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL • Experience using Docker in development or production • Familiarity with Git-based collaboration workflows Preferred (Strong Advantage) • Experience building search, analytics, or optimisation tools • Understanding of technical SEO from a backend perspective • Experience with WebSockets or real-time data pipelines • Familiarity with Redis, background workers, or message queues • Exposure to AI-powered search or content systems What We Offer • Hybrid role • Competitive compensation • Work on real, production-scale AI and search systems • High ownership and direct impact on product outcomes • Fast-paced, engineering-driven startup environment
