Backend Lead

About the job

We are seeking an experienced Backend Lead to join our dynamic technology team. The ideal candidate will have 4–5 years of strong backend development experience and the ability to design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems. This role requires hands-on expertise in Node.js, PHP, WordPress, MongoDB , along with experience working on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. As a Backend Lead, you will be responsible for technical execution, architectural decisions, and mentoring junior engineers while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend applications and RESTful APIs using PHP, Node.js, and MongoDB • Build and implement scalable and reliable backend solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP • Collaborate with frontend, product, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of backend services • Ensure performance, quality, security, and responsiveness of applications • Identify performance bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues, and refactor or fix legacy codebases • Lead and mentor junior engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and best practices • Contribute to backend architecture, system design, and technology decisions Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering , or a related field • 4–5 years of experience in backend development using Node.js, PHP, WordPress, and MySQL • Strong proficiency with Express.js and familiarity with libraries and services such as Multer, Google APIs, and Firebase • Hands-on experience in developing WordPress plugins • Strong expertise in writing complex aggregation queries in MongoDB • Experience working with SQL databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, web services, and headless architecture • Proven experience working with cloud services including AWS, Azure, or GCP • Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices , including coding standards, code reviews, DRY principles, source control management, and testing • Working experience in Python is an added advantage.
