Business Development manager Role Objective: To lead market entry, expansion and revenue growth of a new apparel brand across south India by developing retail, distribution, franchise and institutional channels, establishing strong partner relationships and building the brands commercial footprint from ground Zero. Key Responsibilities: Market Entry & Expansion • Develop and execute south India market entry strategy for a new apparel brand • Identify high potential cities & clusters • Conduct competitive mapping (price point, formats, margin, products mix) • Finalise Go To Markets (GTM) plans for retail & distribution Channel Development • Appoint and manage distributors, franchise partners and key retailers • Drive MBO, LFS, EBO and SIS expansion • Negotiate commercial terms, margin, credit cycles and visibility norms • Identify Institutional / corporate / uniform business opportunities Business Growth & Revenue • Achieve sales, distribution and revenue targets for the region • Build order pipelines and ensure repeat business • Monitor sell through, inventory and replenishment cycles • Support launch of seasonal collections & new categories Brand & Trade Marketing Support • Coordinate with marketing team on launch activations, VM and in-store branding • Support local promotions dealer meets, exhibitions and trade fairs • Ensure brand consistency across all retail touch points Partner relationship management • Build long term relationships with dealers, distributors, mall leasing teams • Resolve channel conflicts and ensure healthy partner ROI • Conduct monthly reviews and business planning with partners Market Intelligence & Reporting • Track competitor activities, pricing and offers • Provide feedback on product acceptance, sizing, fabrics and pricing • Prepare weekly / monthly MIS forecast and expansion reports Candidate profile • 5-10 years in apparel / fashion / lifestyle business development • Proven experience in launching or scaling brands in south India • Strong exposure to mens / women’s / casual / value fashion preferred Skills & competencies • Strong negotiation & relationship building skills • Deep understanding of South Indian retail dynamics • Knowledge of pricing, margins and supply chain basics • Data driven with good MS Excel & reporting skills • Willingness to travel extensively • Ability to negotiate and build relationships in local language Education : Graduate / MBA in Marketing, sales or Business Management preferred
