Position Overview: The Business Head – Electrical will lead the strategic and operational management of the electrical division within the company. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving the growth and profitability of the business, overseeing key client relationships, and ensuring the delivery of electrical services and projects meet the highest industry standards. The Business Head will work closely with the senior management team to develop business strategies, expand market presence, and maintain operational excellence across all electrical operations. Job Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: • Define and implement the strategic direction of the electrical business unit to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives. • Develop long-term business plans for the division, identifying key growth opportunities, both within existing markets and new sectors. • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to ensure the business remains competitive and innovative. • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Sales, Finance, Operations) to align business strategies and drive cross-functional growth. Business Development & Client Management: • Lead business development initiatives, identifying new clients, markets, and opportunities in the electrical sector. • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring the delivery of tailored, high-quality electrical solutions that meet their needs. • Oversee contract negotiations and closing of large-scale electrical contracts, ensuring favourable terms for the company. • Manage key accounts and ensure customer satisfaction through excellent service delivery. Financial Management: • Develop and manage the financial performance of the electrical business, including P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. • Identify and implement cost-effective solutions to maximize profitability while maintaining high standards of service. • Review financial reports and ensure the business unit’s financial health is maintained. Operational Excellence: • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the electrical division, ensuring optimal use of resources and timely project delivery. • Ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational efficiency and project success. • Implement quality control and safety standards, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices. Team Leadership & Development: • Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of managers, engineers, project managers, and other personnel within the electrical business unit. • Foster a high-performance culture by promoting teamwork, collaboration, and accountability across all levels of the team. • Manage talent acquisition, retention, and professional development programs to ensure the division has the necessary expertise and capabilities. Risk Management & Compliance: • Identify potential risks (e.g., project delays, cost overruns, safety concerns) and develop mitigation strategies. • Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international regulations, including electrical codes, health and safety laws, and environmental standards. • Implement risk management processes to address operational, legal, and financial risks in the business. Innovation & Technology Integration: • Promote the integration of new technologies and innovative solutions within the electrical business to enhance service offerings and improve operational efficiencies. • Explore new opportunities in renewable energy, smart grid technologies, and other emerging sectors in the electrical industry. • Ensure the business unit stays up to date with technological advancements and industry standards. Stakeholder Communication & Reporting: • Provide regular updates and reports to the senior management team, highlighting progress, challenges, and strategic opportunities. • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, ensuring transparency and alignment on objectives.
