Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Cash Application Specialist to manage the processing of incoming payments, ensuring accurate allocation to customer accounts and maintaining financial records. This position requires coordination between internal teams, customers, and financial departments to ensure timely and correct application of payments and resolution of discrepancies. Key Responsibilities: • Accurately apply incoming payments to customer accounts based on remittance information. • Verify and allocate cash receipts, credit card payments, and electronic transfers in a timely manner. • Monitor and process unapplied cash transactions and work with the credit team to resolve discrepancies. • Reconcile cash applications to bank statements and resolve any discrepancies. • Communicate with the credit team regarding payment issues, discrepancies, or missing remittances. • Prepare and provide reports on payment applications, aged receivables, and cash flow as needed. • Maintain accurate records of all payment applications and account reconciliations. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance. • Experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or accounting operations. • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial reporting.
