Job Description: Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Accountant to join our team in India. This person will collect, analyze, adjust, and report on cost data for financial decision-making, and report to the Inventory and Cost Accounting Manager in Vancouver. General Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Maintain cost accounting system, cost ledgers, and related general ledgers • Perform month-end accounting close activities, including reconciliations • Generate accounting reports and distribute to internal customers • Ensure inventory accuracy by working with Operations on inventory transactions and adjustments Below are specific tasks: • Responsible for the integrity of detailed standard costs • Manages, corrects, analyzing and reports on material variances • Manages errors, including zero cost of sales and various other errors • Perform standard cost development for on new parts and work closely with Sales • Responsible for monitoring cycle counting activities • Responsible for reconciling Inventory, Work-in-Process and other accounts • Liaison to manufacturing for questions and assistance in a variety of areas • Prepare weekly Labor Flash reports • Maintain R&D records • Participate in month-end closing • Prepares several statistical monthly reports • Prepare CMS division reporting • Responsible for year-end Standard Cost Updates • Documents processes and procedures; eliminates non-value-added activities • Participates in cross functional teams • Contributes to team effort - Willing to take on new assignments, fill in for others as needed; accomplishes other duties as assigned Knowledge-Software • Intermediate: a. Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) • Intermediate/Advanced: a. ERP system (M3/Infor Smart Office preferred) b. SQL server Management Studio Skills-Advanced • Analytical • Computer/Technical • Written and Oral Communication • Problem-solving Intermediate • Project/Process Management • Interpersonal Communication Abilities (and or General Traits) • Strong work ethic • Team player • Detailed-oriented • Customer-focused Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or Associates Degree in Accounting/Finance with 3+ years of industry experience required. Manufacturing experience required.
