Role Summary/Purpose: In this strategic commercial finance role, you will drive branch profitability by optimizing trade spend ROI and translating complex data into actionable growth strategies. You will manage the full customer and operational lifecycle—from claims and receivables to warehouse billing and budget control—while ensuring the branch meets its annual P&L targets. Acting as a key steward of internal controls, you will uphold SOX compliance and conduct regular field visits to align financial strategy with on-the-ground market execution. Responsibilities: • Trade Spend Management: Planning and handling trade spends for the branch, across various packs and Retail Environments, collaborating with the Branch Retail Environment (RE) Manager to ensure a return on investment approach is instilled in trade spends. • Trade Investment Optimization: Analyze and evaluate the Return on Investment (ROI) of trade spending and promotions across key retailers and channels. • Data & Insights: Harness data and analytics tools to translate complex data into clear, actionable commercial insights and recommendations for senior leadership. • Customer Management: Coordinate customer operations including new customer appointments, receivables management, claims settlement, tax issues, and ensuring the detailed execution of full and final settlements. • Warehouse Management: Handle warehouse billing and maintain strict control measures to ensure compliance and efficiency. • Budget Management: Handling branch overheads to keep expenditures within budget while ensuring timely settlement of expense claims according to established processes. • Financial Performance: Drive the delivery of the branch P&L to meet annual financial targets. • Internal Controls: Uphold a robust internal control environment, ensuring compliance with SOX regulations and other internal requirements. • Field Visits: Conduct regular visits to warehouses, stockists, and markets to stay connected with operations and ensure alignment with interpersonal goals. Required Qualifications: • Education: A Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is essential for this role. • Experience: A minimum of 7 years of proven professional experience in finance or commercial strategy. • Financial Competence: Demonstrated strength in financial leadership, budget management, and internal controls (SOX). • Analytical Skills: Ability to leverage data and analytics tools to translate complex information into clear commercial recommendations. Preferred Qualifications: • Industry Experience: Prior experience within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sector is highly preferred. • Soft Skills: Proven ability in leadership, collaboration, and influencing cross-functional teams. • Strategic Thinking: Experience in scenario planning and modeling consumer willingness-to-pay to drive strategic shifts.
