Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Data Science & Backend Engineer specializing in trading systems. As part of this role, you will design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs to support trade processing and analytics. You will implement data algorithms, conduct performance optimizations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to design seamless trading system solutions. The role also involves ensuring the scalability and reliability of systems and integrating both back-end and front-end functionality. We are looking for a math-strong backend engineer (freshers or experienced candidates) to join our investment company in Chennai. Qualifications We are looking for candidates who : • Proficiency in Back-End Web Development and Software Development • Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Programming principles • Experience with Front-End Development and basic front-end integration concepts • Familiarity with trading systems or financial industry practices is an advantage • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment • Are graduates in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science • Have excellent mathematics skills with 90%+ in 10th and 12th standard • Come from a background in Mathematics / Statistics / CSE • Have completed a course in Data Science / Machine Learning / AI • Possess strong programming skills in Python (knowledge of FastAPI is a plus) • Are familiar with data analysis libraries (NumPy, Pandas, etc.) • Have basic knowledge of financial markets or a strong interest in learning trading concepts • Are comfortable working in Linux environments • Have exposure to AWS & Cloud Operations • Demonstrate strong work ethic , eagerness to learn, and an entrepreneurial mindset Backend & Data Science Responsibilities : • Own and develop the Python-based backend for efficient real-time data processing • Work on low-latency system design to support algorithmic trading strategies • Build and maintain API-driven architectures • Use WebSocket APIs and RESTful APIs to integrate with brokers, third-party data sources, and trading systems Employment : • Employment Type : Full-time • (Initial contract period may apply, with continuation based on performance) • Compensation : Competitive, based on skills and background Work Details • Work from Office (WFO) • Wall Street–style professional office environment • Work on production-grade systems used in real investment workflows.
