Data Scientist III - Forecasting

About the job

Key Responsibilities : • Build and improve forecasting models for sales, demand, and guest traffic under guidance from senior / principal scientists; contribute to feature engineering and model selection. • Implement robust evaluation (cross validation, rolling backtests, MAPE / MASE / Pinball loss, calibration checks) and assist with performance monitoring and drift analysis. • Productionize models in partnership with MLOps and engineering : package code, write unit / integration tests, and support deployments and model registries. • Collaborate with product and business partners to clarify requirements, define success metrics, and present findings with clear narratives and visuals. • Contribute to reusability through shared libraries, documentation, and coding standards; participate in design and code reviews. Qualifications Required : • Bachelor’s or Master’s in a quantitative field (Statistics, CS, Applied Math, OR, Econometrics) or equivalent experience. • 2–3+ years of practical experience developing and evaluating forecasting or predictive models. • Proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit learn; statsmodels or equivalent for time series); ability to write clean, maintainable, production ready code. • Familiarity with time series techniques (classical and ML based), feature engineering for seasonality / events, and hierarchical aggregation. • Working knowledge of git, SQL, and collaborative development practices; exposure to Spark or distributed data processing is a plus. • Strong communication and collaboration skills; curiosity and drive to learn from experiments and business feedback.
