As a Data Scientist at our company, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a US Startup and create machine learning solutions using Python. Candidates applying for this role must complete a pre-screening behavioral assessment form as part of the application process to be considered. **Key Responsibilities:** - Conduct empirical research under senior researchers' guidance using public and proprietary data - Perform data gathering, cleaning, and modeling tasks - Maintain datasets and conduct data preparation, testing, and developing visual aids - Utilize statistical techniques to derive analytic insights, hypotheses, and recommendations - Conduct quantitative analyses using Python and SQL - Diagnose and resolve production issues - Collaborate with development teams to enhance the company's technology suite **Qualifications Required:** - Pre-final year student in Statistics/Math, Computer Science, Finance/Economics, or a related quantitative field - Proficiency in ML libraries like Scikit-learn, caret, NLTK, or spark MLlib - Excellent software skills, particularly in Python's Data Science stack - Ability to build statistical and ML models to analyze historical performance and devise predictive solutions - Data Engineering experience or coursework is advantageous - Proficiency in SQL, relational databases, MS-Excel, data visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau, UNIX Operating System, Docker, and Git - Strong analytical, design, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills - Ability to work independently without constant supervision This role requires you to be highly quantitative, reliable, independent, and capable of multitasking. Essential qualities include transparency, collaboration, strong communication skills, self-motivation, ownership of projects, passion for product improvement, and a willingness to experiment with new tools and techniques.
