About the job
The Data Statistician plays a critical role in supporting research, analytics, and publication-driven projects at Aristocrat Research. The position involves designing statistical models, analyzing datasets, performing hypothesis testing, building predictive frameworks, and generating insights for theses, dissertations, industry research, and academic publications. The statistician will collaborate with research consultants, analysts, and manuscript writers to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and scientific validity of all data-driven outputs. Collect, clean, structure, and analyze data for research projects. Perform descriptive, inferential, and multivariate statistical analyses. Apply advanced methods: regression models, ANOVA, SEM, EFA/CFA, clustering, time-series, forecasting, etc. Develop predictive models using statistical and machine learning techniques. Visualize statistical results using charts, dashboards, and infographics. Create reproducible code/scripts (SPSS syntax, R scripts, Python notebooks). Validate datasets, ensure accuracy, identify errors, and perform consistency checks. Assist in writing statistical methodology sections for research papers and theses. Interpret statistical outputs and translate them into academic findings. Support the publication team with journal-compliant statistical reporting. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on quantitative research strategies. Requirements Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or related fields. Strong proficiency in at least one statistical tool: SPSS, R, Python, AMOS, Stata, Minitab. Excellent understanding of statistical theories and applied techniques. Experience with large datasets, data cleaning, and data management. Ability to create clean, well-documented statistical reports. Strong mathematical reasoning and analytical skills. Experience with visualization tools: Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn (optional). Strong communication skills to explain statistical results clearly.
