Deputy Manager / Manager – Strategic Sourcing & Costing

Job Summary: We are seeking a result-driven professional to lead Strategic Sourcing and Costing activities, focusing on supplier development, cost optimization, and data-driven decision-making. The role involves strong expertise in should-costing, supplier negotiations, cost analytics, and strategic procurement, especially within the manufacturing / CV industry. Key Responsibility: • Perform should-cost analysis, zero-based costing, and cost modeling for components and assemblies • Lead machine hour rate calculations and cycle time estimation for accurate cost buildup • Conduct price benchmarking and comparative analysis across suppliers and regions • Drive material cost reduction initiatives using data analytics and cost breakdowns • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers through onsite assessments and capability analysis • Drive supplier selection and development aligned with quality, cost, and delivery targets • Build strategic partnerships with critical suppliers and diversify supply base to mitigate risks • Develop and execute long-term sourcing strategies for cost competitiveness • Lead structured negotiations for part and tooling costs with suppliers • Finalize commercial agreements, contracts, and pricing frameworks • Ensure long-term cost savings through effective negotiation strategies • Monitor market trends, raw material prices, and supplier cost drivers • Conduct supplier audits, performance evaluations, and development programs • Establish long-term commercial contracts and improve supplier engagement • Collaborate with suppliers for cost reduction, localization, and value engineering initiatives • Work closely with R&D, Production, Quality, and Finance teams for cost optimization • Support new product sourcing (NPD) with competitive costing and supplier alignment • Ensure alignment between sourcing strategy and organizational goals • Utilize ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Microsoft Dynamics) for procurement and costing activities • Drive process improvements and digital procurement initiatives • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and audit requirements. Required Skills & Competencies: • Strong expertise in Strategic Sourcing, Vendor Development, and Costing • Hands-on experience in Zero-based costing, Should-costing & Cost modeling • In-depth knowledge of machine hour rate calculation & cycle time estimation • Proven experience in supplier negotiations and cost settlements • Strong analytical skills with focus on data-driven cost reduction • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills • Experience in supplier audits, development, and long-term contracting • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Microsoft Dynamics) • Exposure to Power BI / analytics tools is an added advantage. Experience: • 6–12 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing / Costing / Procurement. • Preferred background from OEMs / Tier-1 suppliers, especially in Commercial Vehicle (CV) industry.
