About the role Roku is seeking a Director, People Business Partner to lead strategic people initiatives for our Devices, Product & Technology organization from our growing Bengaluru office. This role is pivotal in shaping organizational effectiveness, driving change management, and building a high-performing team locally while partnering closely with senior leaders in our India, APAC, EMEA and our U.S. headquarters. As Roku enters its next phase of growth and profitability, you will lead local initiatives that strengthen our presence in India, foster a strong culture, and ensure alignment with global strategies. You will manage a small team and serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, influencing decisions that impact our global workforce. Why join Roku in Bangalore? What You’ll Do • Lead Local People Strategy: Drive initiatives that establish and grow Roku’s presence in Bangalore, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and cultural alignment. • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with senior leaders in globally to align People strategies with business priorities and influence decision-making at the leadership level. • Team Leadership: Manage and develop People Business Partners, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement. • Organizational Development: Diagnose organizational health, design interventions to improve effectiveness, and lead initiatives that strengthen leadership capability and team performance. • Change Management: Develop and execute strategies to guide teams through organizational change, ensuring engagement and resilience across geographies. • Talent & Leadership Development: Coach leaders to take ownership of talent development, succession planning, and performance management, modeling behaviors that reinforce Roku’s culture. • Employee Experience: Partner with leaders to identify trends in engagement and performance and implement solutions that enhance the employee experience. • Global Collaboration: Work across geographies to maintain a unified company culture while respecting local nuances. • Data-Driven Insights: Use analytics and external benchmarks to inform strategies and measure impact, driving continuous improvement in People programs. We’re excited if you have • 10+ years of progressive HR/People Business Partner experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role managing a team. • Experience working in a global environment, with a US based headquarters. • Proven success partnering with senior executives in high-growth, tech-driven environments, ideally supporting engineering and product organizations. • Expertise in organizational development, change management, and leadership coaching. • Strong ability to navigate ambiguity and introduce structure where needed. • Experience leveraging data and metrics to inform decisions and measure organizational effectiveness. • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. • A track record of building trust through transparency, integrity, and ethical decision-making. • Deep knowledge of India’s labor laws and HR practices, with experience supporting global organizations.
