Position Overview The Expense Allocation Analyst will collaborate closely with fund accounting, legal, investor relations, and portfolio operations teams to ensure expenses are allocated in accordance with Limited Partnership Agreements (LPAs), regulatory requirements, and internal policies. Key Responsibilities Expense Allocation & Analysis • Review, classify, and allocate fund-level expenses (management fees, organizational costs, deal-related expenses, broken deal costs, portfolio monitoring fees, etc.) across multiple fund vehicles, co-investment entities, and separately managed accounts. • Interpret LPA terms and side letter provisions to determine appropriate expense allocation methodologies and ensure consistent application across fund structures. • Maintain and update expense allocation models and workbooks on a periodic basis (monthly, quarterly, annually). • Partner with the fund accounting team and external fund administrators to reconcile expense records and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Reporting & LP Communications • Prepare and review quarterly and annual fund expense schedules and management fee calculations for inclusion in LP reports and capital account statements. • Assist in the preparation of investor-facing expense summaries for new fund closings and ongoing reporting obligations. Process Improvement & Technology • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate expense allocation workflows, reducing manual effort and enhancing accuracy. • Contribute to the implementation and optimization of fund accounting platforms and ERP systems (e.g., Investran, Geneva, Yardi, or similar). • Document and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for expense allocation and related finance processes. • Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, Legal, and Operations teams on system upgrades and process enhancements. Qualifications & Requirements Education • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field required. • Qualified Chartered Accountant could be an added advantage. Experience • 5 years of experience in fund accounting, financial operations, or audit, preferably within a private equity, hedge fund, or alternative asset management firm. • Demonstrable experience with expense allocation, management fee calculations, or fund administration is highly preferred. Technical Skills • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, data modeling). • Familiarity with fund accounting software such as Investran, Geneva, Yardi, or Allvue. • Experience with data visualization or BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
