The Fabrication Fitter is responsible for assembling, fitting, and fabricating metal components and structures according to technical drawings and specifications. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work with various tools and machinery to produce high-quality fabricated products. Welder: Welder or welding operator should have job knowledge in order to ensure that welding, Quality, Safety procedures are followed, and common practices are complied with on shop floor. Fitter: • Knowledge about basic EHS guidelines/Environmental aspect and Risk related to inspection activities on Machines and during Assembly • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine fitting requirements. • Assemble and fit metal parts by aligning, grinding, and adjusting components to ensure proper fit. • Mark, measure, and cut materials accurately before assembly. • Use hand tools, power tools, gas cutting and machinery such as grinders, drills, and fitting equipment. • Assist in welding preparation and ensure parts are correctly positioned prior to welding. • ITI fitter / Diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship preferred. • Proven experience as a Heavy Fabrication Fitter. • 5 to 8 years of experience in Heavy fabrication or Pressure Vessel Fabrication. • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Welder: • Prioritize safety above all else by maintaining a rigorous adherence to safety standards and processes, ensuring that safety risks and issues are identified, reported, and addressed immediately. • Understand and apply basic principles of Gouging & Welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW) • Follow methods, standards, and work instructions to: Weld turbines and generators components by applying appropriate welding techniques Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG), Metal Inert Gas (MIG), Shielding Metal Arc (SMAW) and Submerged Arc Welding (SAW). • Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine appropriate welding processes. Experience gained on job during professional life: - Minimum 5 years' experience in Heavy Fabrication - Qualified in GMAW-Must, GTAW, SMAW, SAW - Must have Heavy fabrication experience, capable of performing Groove welds (T Joints, Knuckle, Corner& Butt joints for thickness 40 mm above). • Understanding of WPS/PQR/WPQ/WELD BOOK.
