About the job
As a Financial Controller for our US client, your main responsibility will be to report to the Chief Financial Officer and work closely with the Business Unit Leader. Your role will involve managing the accounting, planning, and financial analysis needs of the business unit while ensuring that financial goals are consistently tracked and achieved. To succeed in this position, you must be a strong finance leader with expertise in financial planning and analysis, cost accounting, and overall business acumen. Key Responsibilities: - Drive deeper understanding into business unit operational drivers, including margins by product and customer - Act as the key advisor for local management, providing insights on the financial aspects of business decisions - Complete various activities associated with the monthly accounting close, including reforecasts - Partner with the business to deliver accurate projections such as quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and near-term outlooks - Own the business unit level of the audit process and interface with external auditors - Conduct key analyses and risk assessments of forecast submissions - Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process - Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals - Ensure proper revenue recognition and expense matching - Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS - Oversee cash management, cash forecasting, and liquidity planning - Monitor AR, AP, and inventory to optimize working capital - Support banking relationships and debt covenant compliance - Track and communicate major trends and changes to budget and forecast expectations - Work collaboratively to drive CRM system improvement and reporting integration Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required, CPA preferred - Work Experience: 10+ years of Finance or Accounting experience with management experience - Background in agency services, B2B transactions, and direct to consumer is critical - Cost accounting experience is helpful. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Strong understanding and experience with GL account reconciliations - Highly proficient in Excel including vlookup, pivot tables, and other shortcuts - Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish relationships quickly - Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform analysis under tight deadlines - Change management experience and consulting skills - Must be highly motivated, organized, and a team player with strong leadership skills. - Licenses and Certifications: CPA preferred.
