As a Forward-Deployed Engineer, you will play a key role in building and deploying AI-enabled solutions and automation across the organization. You will help team core platforms used in eDiscovery, digital forensics, and legal document review, while also working directly with strategic clients to design and implement technical workflows. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and operations, requiring both strong technical depth and the ability to solve complex real-world problems. You will operate with significant autonomy, contributing to cloud and AI strategy and shaping how automation and intelligent systems are applied across the business. This is a highly entrepreneurial role where you will help establish a new engineering capability and directly influence both internal systems and client solutions. Key Responsibilities Drive Internal Platform Automation • Identify performance bottlenecks and manual workflows across client eDiscovery and digital forensics platforms. • Architect, develop, and deploy automation solutions that improve efficiency, scalability, and security. Lead Client-Facing Technical Engagements • Own technical discovery, solution design, architecture, and delivery for strategic client projects. • Conduct pre-sales scoping sessions to understand client workflows, data sources, and success metrics. Translate Business Needs into Technical Solutions • Convert ambiguous legal and operational challenges into clear technical plans, prototypes, and implementation roadmaps. • Ensure solutions align with client security, compliance, and operational standards. Architect and Build AI-Enabled Workflows • Design system architectures, data pipelines, integration layers, and applications using cloud platforms, LLMs, and analytics technologies. • Implement intelligent automation and AI-driven solutions that enhance legal workflows. Technical Implementation and Guidance • Guide engineering teams through implementation and contribute code where necessary to accelerate delivery. • Conduct technical workshops with both client and internal teams to align on architecture, data availability, and deployment requirements. Data Analysis & Prototyping • Analyze diverse data sources including APIs, SQL databases, CSV files, logs, and financial datasets. • Build rapid prototypes and proofs-of-concept to validate ideas and demonstrate solution value. Communicate Technical Strategy • Translate complex technical solutions into clear business outcomes including ROI, operational efficiency, and scalability. • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. What do you bring on the table: • 15 years of experience in a technical role. • Bachelors degree in B.Tech, B.E., B.Sc., or an equivalent technical discipline is required Technical Skills: • Strong proficiency in Python and common data engineering / data science libraries such as: • Pandas • NumPy • SQLAlchemy • FastAPI / Flask • Experience working with cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure, though AWS or Google Cloud is also valuable). • Familiarity with modern AI and LLM tooling, including: • LLM APIs • Vector databases • Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) • Embeddings • Prompt engineering • Experience integrating multiple data sources including SQL databases, APIs, CSV pipelines, and third-party systems.
