Job Description: Frontend Developer (Ruby on Rails Applications) Location: Fully Remote (Minimum 4 hours overlap with Pacific Time) Job Type: Full-time About the Role We are seeking a mid-to-senior level Frontend Developer with strong experience in building frontends for Ruby on Rails applications. This is a frontend-only role focused on HTML, CSS (Tailwind CSS preferred), and JavaScript (Stimulus JS preferred). Unlike typical frontend positions, this role does not require modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue. Our frontend stack is intentionally lightweight. The ideal candidate will be someone who: • Enjoys working directly with Rails-backed frontends • Is highly detail-oriented in UI/UX execution • Can work independently and collaborate effectively within a small distributed team Responsibilities • Build and maintain user-facing features for Ruby on Rails applications using HTML, Tailwind CSS, and Stimulus JS • Convert UI/UX designs into high-quality, responsive, pixel-perfect interfaces • Collaborate with Rails engineers to integrate frontend components with backend functionality • Ensure strong accessibility, performance, and cross-browser compatibility • Work independently with minimal supervision while communicating progress clearly • Demonstrate strong attention to detail in frontend design and execution • Present visual examples of previous work (portfolio links, GitHub repos, or live projects) Requirements • 3–6 years of professional experience in frontend development • Proven experience building frontends for Ruby on Rails applications • Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript • Experience with Tailwind CSS strongly preferred • Experience with Stimulus JS preferred (or willingness to work without heavy frameworks) • Strong attention to visual accuracy and UI/UX detail • Ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Availability for at least 4 hours overlap with the Pacific Timezone Nice to Have • Experience with Rails-friendly frontend libraries • Knowledge of accessibility and performance best practices • Visual design sensibility or experience working closely with designers What We’re Looking For • Candidates focused exclusively on frontend development (not backend-leaning) • Strong visual proof of frontend expertise — examples will be reviewed during the process (portfolio links, GitHub code samples, public websites, etc.) Why Join Us? • Build high-quality, modern Rails frontends — without heavy JS frameworks • Collaborate with an experienced and supportive team • Enjoy the flexibility of remote work while contributing to impactful projects • Grow in a role where your frontend expertise and attention to detail truly stand out.
