As a Frontend Engineer on the India Healthcare team, you'll create the digital products that make quality healthcare more accessible and convenient for customers. This is an opportunity to shape healthcare technology from the ground up. You'll work on meaningful problems where getting the experience right truly matters—building interfaces that are not just functional, but approachable, accessible, and optimized for India's diverse customers and network conditions. Your code will directly impact how millions of people interact with healthcare services. Key job responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain responsive web applications for healthcare services, ensuring exceptional user experience across desktop and mobile devices. • Leverage generative AI tools effectively in your development workflow while applying critical thinking to refine, optimize, and enhance AI-generated code. • Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and backend engineers to translate healthcare requirements into intuitive, accessible, and performant user interfaces. • Implement and maintain component libraries and design systems that enable consistent, high-quality experiences across the healthcare platform. • Optimize frontend performance for varying network conditions and device capabilities common in the Indian market. • Ensure applications meet healthcare compliance requirements, accessibility standards (WCAG), and Amazon's security best practices. A day in the life You'll design and build user interfaces for healthcare products, working closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers. Your work includes architecting React components, optimizing performance for varying network conditions across India, ensuring accessibility standards are met, and collaborating on feature integration. You'll leverage modern development tools including generative AI to accelerate coding, while applying your judgment and expertise to refine the output into polished, production-ready experiences that serve millions of customers. We ship software early and often, we work on greenfield ML/GenAI initiatives, we are passionate about opportunity to serve customers on something as critical as best in class Healthcare to conveniently get access to top doctors, prescription medicines and ability to get lab tests within minutes or at a time of choice. We are building India-first technology to solve for Healthcare needs for customers in India. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent • 3+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience • Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as angular and react • Experience in computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node • Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence • Experience building reusable UX components or libraries Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
