Key Responsibilities: • WordPress Development & Customization: • Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress themes and plugins according to client specifications. • Implement custom WordPress themes from design mockups using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP. • Optimize websites for speed, scalability, and responsiveness. • Ensure mobile-friendly and responsive design across all devices. • Troubleshoot bugs, performance issues, and technical challenges. • Maintain website security, compliance with web standards, and ensure functionality. • Implement SEO best practices and ensure cross-browser compatibility. • Integrate APIs, third-party services, and databases. • Work with sitemaps and Google Analytics for tracking and analysis. • Front-End Development: • Implement user interfaces based on design specifications using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, React, or Vue.js. • Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness. • Optimize front-end performance for fast loading and smooth user interaction. • Back-End Development: • Manage WordPress backend, including database integration (MySQL) and server-side scripting (PHP). • Customize the WordPress admin panel and dashboard for ease of content management. • Integrate third-party APIs (e.g., payment gateways, social media APIs). • Manage website security, backups, and server-related troubleshooting. • Performance Optimization: • Use performance optimization techniques such as image compression, caching, and minimizing server load. • Conduct site audits to resolve performance bottlenecks. • Utilize tools like Google PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse, and GTmetrix to improve speed and SEO. • Security Management: • Implement secure coding practices and regularly update software. • Install and monitor security plugins to detect vulnerabilities. • Manage secure authentication, user roles, and permissions. • Debugging & Troubleshooting: • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve website issues (e.g., bugs, crashes, UX problems). • Perform regular testing to ensure cross-device and browser compatibility. • SEO & Analytics: • Implement SEO best practices in code structure to enhance visibility. • Use Google Analytics and other tools to track website performance. • Apply schema markup, metadata, and other SEO enhancements. Required Qualifications: • 1-2+ years of proven experience in WordPress development (front-end & back-end). • Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL. • Experience with theme and plugin development/customization. • Familiarity with responsive design principles. • Experience with WordPress page builders (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery) and frameworks. • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git). • Proficiency in website optimization techniques (e.g., caching, CDNs, minification). • Strong understanding of SEO best practices. • Experience with hosting environments, FTP, cPanel, and command-line tools. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Preferred Skills (Optional): • Experience with Media Industery or other eCommerce platforms. • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations. • Knowledge of web hosting environments and basic server management. Candidate Assignment: As part of the application process, candidates must complete the following assignment: • Task: Replicate the Home Page of www.viacomindia.com • Recreate the homepage within WordPress, ensuring the following elements are replicated accurately: • Header: Include company logo and navigation menu matching the original layout and design. • Hero Banner/Slider: Create a full-width hero section with a background image/video, overlay text, and buttons, mirroring the original page. • Featured Services/Content: Design sections showcasing key services or projects, with appropriate styling, icons, or images. • Portfolio/Video Section: Implement a section displaying projects or videos, with text descriptions and links to more information. • Footer: Recreate the footer with contact details, social media links, and legal/privacy links. • Ensure the website is: • Fully responsive across all devices (desktop, tablet, and mobile). • Optimized for speed using basic WordPress optimization techniques (e.g., image compression, caching). • Includes custom CSS/JavaScript where necessary for design effects (e.g., hover states, animations, transitions). • Built using clean and modular code for easy future maintenance. • Adheres to basic SEO best practices (proper heading structure, image alt attributes, etc.).
