Position - General Manager – Block Construction Site Location - Pipavav, Gujarat Preferred Industry - Shipyard | Marine | Port & Harbour | Shipping Role Summary: The Head of Block Outfitting oversees all block-level outfitting at BCS, including machinery and E,E&I works. The role ensures on-time, quality, and safe execution, driving productivity and meeting shipbuilding delivery targets. Key Responsibility: 1) Lead end-to-end block outfitting operations covering Machinery (Auxiliary, HVAC, Piping & Valves) and E,E&I works at BCS. 2) Plan and execute section-wise schedules aligned with block and vessel construction timelines. 3) Ensure compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and HSE requirements. 4) Drive strong cross-functional coordination between Machinery and E,E&I teams to avoid bottlenecks and meet milestones. 5) Oversee workforce and resource management, including manpower deployment, materials, tools, and equipment availability. 6) Monitor progress against milestones and provide regular performance and progress reports to site leadership. 7) Promote continuous improvement through process optimization, quality enhancements, and productivity initiatives. Preferred Qualifications & Experience: 1) Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Naval Architecture / Electrical / Marine Engineering; Master’s degree in Engineering or Operations Management is an added advantage. 2) Project Management / Quality certifications preferred. 18+ years of experience in shipbuilding outfitting projects. 3) Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role within a global or Indian shipyard. 4) Proven track record in large-scale outfitting execution, cross-functional team coordination, and delivery in capital-intensive project environments.
