General Manager – Global Supply Chain Distribution

Role Objective: A key objective of this role is to lead and manage the end-to-end distribution and supply chain operations across the organization’s subsidiaries, ensuring efficient product availability, inventory management, logistics coordination, and distributor/channel performance across international markets. The role oversees distribution operations across APAC, EMEA & LATAM regions, ensuring a 99% OTIF (On-Time In-Full) customer service level while continuously improving the end-to-end order-to-delivery experience. The position is responsible for harmonizing supply chain practices across subsidiaries, optimizing logistics in terms of cost and delivery timelines, implementing regional warehouse strategies and ensuring product availability at branch locations through effective demand planning and coordination with sales, commercial teams, central planning and manufacturing plants. The role will also lead supply chain teams across subsidiaries as well as the corporate team responsible for servicing countries, ensuring alignment between demand, supply, inventory, and logistics operations. Desired Candidate Profile: • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy / Science / Engineering / Supply Chain Management. MBA in Operations / Supply Chain is preferred. • Experience: 15–20 years of experience in distribution, logistics, or supply chain management in pharmaceuticals / medical devices / healthcare industry. • Minimum 8–10 years in senior leadership roles managing multi-country distribution and supply chain operations. • Experience managing international distribution networks and supply chain operations across multiple subsidiaries. • Strong exposure to logistics optimization, demand planning, inventory management, and supply chain transformation initiatives. • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP/similar supply chain systems). Key Responsibilities: Distribution Strategy & Network Management • Develop and implement distribution strategies aligned with the company’s sales and growth objectives. • Oversee distribution operations across APAC, EMEA & LATAM regions. • Build, manage, and strengthen distribution channels across subsidiaries and markets. • Drive initiatives to harmonize supply chain and distribution practices across branches. • Design and implement an optimized distribution network including regional warehouses to improve service levels and reduce delivery lead times. • Evaluate distributor/channel performance and ensure compliance with company policies and contractual obligations. Supply Chain & Logistics Management • Oversee end-to-end distribution operations, including warehousing, transportation and last-mile delivery. • Implement regional warehouse strategies to support faster replenishment and improved market responsiveness. • Ensure optimal inventory levels across warehouses, regional hubs, and subsidiary locations. • Coordinate closely with manufacturing, regulatory, and sales teams to ensure timely dispatch and product availability. • Monitor logistics partners and optimize freight, transportation costs, and delivery timelines. Inventory & Demand Planning • Lead demand forecasting and inventory planning in collaboration with sales and commercial teams in each country. • Work closely with the central demand planning tower to align demand forecasts with supply plans. • Ensure product availability at subsidiaries and regional warehouses through effective replenishment planning. • Implement systems for stock monitoring, replenishment planning, and minimizing stock-outs or overstocking. • Ensure proper stock rotation & batch traceability and minimize expiry risks across markets. Distributor Relationship Management • Establish strong working relationships with distributors, hospitals, and institutional partners across markets. • Support distributor training, onboarding, and operational alignment with company processes. • Resolve distributor grievances and operational issues effectively. Compliance & Quality Assurance • Ensure distribution practices comply with regulatory requirements for medical devices and pharmaceuticals. • Maintain proper documentation, audits, and compliance with internal SOPs and quality systems. • Ensure safe storage and transportation conditions for medical products across all subsidiaries. Team Leadership • Lead and develop distribution, warehouse, and logistics teams across subsidiaries as well as the corporate team servicing countries. • Set KPIs, monitor performance, and drive operational excellence across supply chain operations. • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
