Only Candidates from Transmission Conductor Manufacturing / EPC Companies are eligible We are seeking a seasoned, high-impact General Manager – Marketing to lead the company’s marketing, business development, and tender management functions for our transmission conductors, cables, and allied electrical products. This role is central to business growth, enquiry generation, tender/ ... bid conversion, order booking, market expansion, customer engagement, and gross margin improvement. The ideal candidate will have strong industry knowledge, commercial acumen, and the ability to drive high-value order acquisition across utilities, EPC contractors, renewable energy developers, and export markets. Key Responsibilities: Business Development & Market Expansion: · Develop and execute robust business development plans to achieve order booking targets for AAC, AAAC, ACSR, AL59, HTLS conductors, cables, and specialty conductor products. · Identify and penetrate new markets, including EPC contractors, renewable energy developers, DISCOMs, railways, defence, international utilities, and export geographies. · Generate a strong funnel of enquiries by developing new buyer relationships, enhancing outreach programs, and positioning the company for large tenders and project-based sales. · Analyse market demand, pricing trends, competitor offerings, and customer preferences to drive informed decision-making and strategic positioning. Inquiry Generation & Conversion: · Build a structured enquiry generation mechanism through proactive customer engagement, market scanning, and participation in tenders, exhibitions, and business forums. · Strengthen conversion ratios by aligning technical, commercial, and delivery capabilities with customer requirements. · Ensure timely and competitive submission of offers, compliance to tender terms, and coordination with engineering/QA for GTP compliances. · Track enquiry-to-order conversion metrics and drive continuous improvement. Tender & Bid Management: · Lead the complete tendering and bid management process for utilities, EPCs, government bodies, and international agencies. · Review tender documents and clarify technical requirements, commercial conditions, eligibility criteria, and contract terms. · Coordinate with Engineering, QA, Finance, and Commercial teams to prepare technically compliant and commercially competitive bids. · Ensure accurate GTP compliances, deviation lists, and tender documentation are prepared and submitted on time. · Develop bid strategies focusing on win-rate improvement, pricing competitiveness, and margin protection. · Lead post-bid clarification meetings, price negotiation rounds, and techno-commercial discussions with customers. New Buyer Development & Approvals: · Identify, evaluate, and onboard new customers in India and overseas by driving successful technical and commercial discussions. · Lead the process of factory approvals, GTP approvals, vendor registrations, technical clearances, and product qualification with utilities, EPCs, and large government bodies. · Ensure all customer-specific registration, documentation, and compliance requirements are completed on time. Order Booking & Gross Margin Optimization: · Drive end-to-end commercial negotiations to secure profitable orders while ensuring alignment with company pricing strategies. · Review cost sheets, raw material indices, and project requirements to finalize commercially competitive yet margin-conscious pricing. · Ensure order booking is aligned with planned gross margins and financial targets. · Monitor market fluctuations (aluminium, steel, zinc, etc.) to guide pricing strategy and maintain competitiveness. Marketing Material Development & Brand Positioning: · Oversee the creation of high-quality marketing and technical collateral—company profiles, brochures, product catalogues, datasheets, and case studies. · Ensure all marketing content effectively communicates the company’s strengths, capabilities, and differentiators. · Build a strong digital and offline presence to support enquiry generation and brand visibility. Skills and Experience Required: · Bachelor’s degree (B.Tech in Electrical will be preferred) in any field with Masters in Marketing/equivalent. · 10–15 years of relevant experience in B2B marketing, preferably in conductor/cable manufacturing, EPC, or electrical transmission equipment sectors. · Proven track record in business development, customer handling, and large-scale project sales. · Sound knowledge of market trends in power transmission, renewable energy, and export regulations. · Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and tender portals. · Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. · Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
