Job Description: General Manager – Operations (Gear & Machining Industry) Position: General Manager – Operations Industry: Gear Manufacturing / Precision Machining Location: Mohali Experience Required: 20+ Years Employment Type: Full-Time Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager – Operations to lead and oversee manufacturing operations in a gear and machining industry setup. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence, improving production efficiency, ensuring quality compliance, and managing plant operations while aligning with business growth objectives. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage complete plant operations, including production, machining, assembly, maintenance, and logistics. • Ensure efficient production planning and execution to meet customer delivery schedules. • Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize productivity and reduce operational costs. • Oversee CNC machining, gear cutting, heat treatment, and precision manufacturing processes. • Monitor and maintain quality standards and compliance with ISO and industry regulations. • Develop and manage annual operational budgets, cost controls, and resource allocation. • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, quality, and supply chain teams to improve operational performance. • Lead, mentor, and develop plant managers, supervisors, and technical teams. • Ensure workplace safety standards and regulatory compliance within the manufacturing facility. • Drive strategic initiatives to support capacity expansion, process automation, and technology upgrades. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred). • 20+ years of experience in gear manufacturing, heavy machining, or precision engineering industries. • Proven leadership experience in plant operations or manufacturing management. • Strong knowledge of gear manufacturing processes, CNC machining, and production systems. • Experience in ERP systems, production planning, and supply chain coordination. • Strong analytical, leadership, and decision-making skills. Preferred Skills • Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance). • Experience with automotive or industrial component manufacturing. • Strong team leadership and stakeholder management skills. • Ability to drive process optimization and cost efficiency initiatives.
