Job Description Commercial Leadership & Financial Performance • Define and execute the commercial strategy for the Distribution of portfolio to distributors in alignment with corporate objectives. • Drive revenue growth to achieve or exceed annual sales targets. • Lead, coach, and develop a team of sales representatives, fostering high performance and accountability. • Establish strong relationships with key distributors, clients, and market stakeholders. • Deliver targeted EBITDA results by optimising revenue generation, margin management, and operational efficiency, ensuring sustainable profitability. Marketing & Market Development • Oversee the design and implementation of marketing initiatives to strengthen market penetration and brand recognition. • Oversee the develop and implementation of products launches in India in close relationship with the European headquarters. • Oversee and implement specific training activities to increase adoption of the portfolio. • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify opportunities for product and service development. • Ensure alignment of local marketing actions with Group brand guidelines. Customer Service Excellence • Guarantee a high standard of customer service and after-sales support, in line with medical device industry best practices. • Manage and coordinate tender processes from bid preparation to submission. • Resolve escalated client issues promptly, maintaining strong customer relationships. Logistics & Operations Management • Supervise logistics operations, including ancillary loans, product replenishment, and inventory control. • Ensure timely and efficient product delivery while optimising operational costs. • Coordinate with suppliers and the production unit to maintain adequate stock levels providing accurate and timely sales forecasts to enable production planning that aligns with customer demand and overall global supply chain requirements. Regulatory & Compliance • Ensure full compliance with all applicable Indian regulations governing the distribution of medical devices. • Implement and maintain rigorous quality management and traceability systems in accordance with Group standards. Financial & Reporting • Contribute to budgeting, sales forecasting, and performance reporting. • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular reports to Group. • Optimise resource allocation within the approved budget. Stakeholder Management • Supervises effectively with functional services (HR, Finance, Accounting, Quality) and with the Production Business Unit to ensure business continuity. • Maintain open, structured communication with the European headquarters ensuring alignment with global strategy. The Successful Applicant A successful General Manager Sales and Distribution should have: • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field; MBA preferred. • 20+ years of sales and distribution experience in the Indian market, including 10+ years of experience in sales and distribution management, preferably within the medical device or healthcare sector. • Experience in Orthopaedic Implants industry in India is a MUST. • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a competitive market. • Proven ability to operate effectively within an international organisation, navigating cross-cultural dynamics and multi-country stakeholder relationships. • Strong understanding of medical device regulatory requirements in India. • Experience in managing multi-functional teams and working within a matrix organisation.
