About the job
We would like to hire an experienced professional for the role of GM - HR (Head of Department). The position reports directly to the Vice Chancellor (VC) and Chairman and will work closely with academic and administrative leadership. Key Responsibilities • Head and lead the entire HR department for the University • Design, implement, and monitor HR policies, SOPs, and compliance frameworks • Lead Talent Acquisition for faculty, academic leadership, and administrative roles • Drive Talent Management, performance appraisal systems, succession planning, and leadership development • Manage employee relations, counselling, grievance redressal, and disciplinary processes • Partner with senior leadership to align HR strategy with institutional goals • Lead and develop the HR team, ensuring operational excellence and responsiveness • Oversee HR operations including payroll coordination, manpower planning, and statutory compliance • Champion digital HR transformation, HRMS, and data-driven HR decision making • Prepare HR MIS, dashboards, and strategic reports for VC and Chairman • Foster a positive, inclusive, and performance-oriented workplace culture 10–15 years of progressive HR experience, with relevant exposure in a University, Educational Institution Candidates with strong IT / Technology company HR leadership experience will also be considered
