For more about Group Bayport, please visit Website: https://groupbayport.com/about-us/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/groupbayport/mycompany/ Designation: Head - Logistics Location: Gandhinagar About The Role The Head – Logistics will lead and oversee end-to-end global logistics operations, including inbound imports, outbound shipments, international freight management, shipping partner relationships, cost optimization, and delivery excellence. This role requires strong strategic capability, operational depth, commercial negotiation expertise, and the ability to manage high-volume global shipments in a fast-paced eCommerce manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities • Strategic Logistics Leadership • Lead global inbound and outbound logistics operations across multiple geographies. • Develop logistics strategies aligned with business growth and expansion plans. • Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining service level excellence. Shipping & Freight Management • Manage relationships with global shipping partners (Air, Sea & Surface). • Lead rate negotiations, annual contracts, and commercial terms with freight forwarders and carriers. • Develop shipment plans based on cost, delivery timelines, and service reliability. • Ensure seamless execution of B2B, B2C, and Marketplace shipments. Import & Export Operations • Oversee inbound raw material imports with focus on reducing cost and lead time. • Manage end-to-end outbound sea and air shipments. • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and documentation. • Handle SEZ shipment processes (preferred). Operational Control & Governance • Ensure complete visibility and control over all domestic and international shipments. • Monitor shipment performance, delays, claims, and service quality. • Drive 100% internal execution control and process adherence. Financial & MIS Management • Oversee freight cost tracking, invoice reconciliation, and payment verification. • Drive daily/weekly/monthly logistics MIS reporting. • Generate actionable insights to improve cost, TAT, and operational efficiency. Business Expansion & Vendor Development • Identify and onboard logistics partners in new geographies. • Support business teams in entering new international markets. • Stay updated on global logistics trends, shipping innovations, and technology solutions. Desired Skills & Competencies • Proficient in both verbal and written communication, demonstrating excellence in expressing ideas and information. • Possesses a comprehensive grasp of logistics processes and expertise in managing supply chain operations. • Have very comprehensive knowledge about Duties, Taxes, and Tariffs—How They Factor Into International Shipping Strategy. • In Depth knowledge about import and export from China, United States, Australia, UK, Canada and European union related to trade compliance and all IOR procedures for hassle free trade. • Exhibits strong interpersonal abilities and effective negotiation skills to facilitate positive interactions with various stakeholders. • Demonstrates exceptional organizational skills coupled with meticulous attention to detail in handling tasks. • Approaches challenges with an analytical mindset and employs effective problem-solving skills to find optimal solutions. • Proficient in utilizing logistics software, as well as well-versed in the Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems for efficient workflow management. Experience • 10–15 years of progressive experience in global logistics and supply chain. • Proven experience managing large-scale international shipping operations. • Experience working with major logistics companies such as FedEx, DHL, UPS, etc. • Experience in SEZ shipment handling is an added advantage. • Experience in eCommerce/manufacturing setup preferred. Education • Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management / Logistics / Operations Management or equivalent.
