Job Description Head of Data Platform & CoE Health Insurance Firm | Melbourne or Sydney | $230,000–$250,000 + Super + Bonus About the Role Our client, a leading health insurance provider, is seeking an accomplished Head of Data Platform & Centre of Excellence (CoE) to lead the uplift of its enterprise data capabilities. This senior leadership role will play a pivotal part in shaping the organisation’s future through data, delivering a modernised platform, and embedding a best-practice operating model for a Data CoE. Key Responsibilities - Lead the uplift and modernisation of the enterprise data platform, ensuring scalability, resilience, and security. - Define and implement the operating model for a Data CoE, including governance, processes, and standards that enable self-service, quality, and innovation. - Partner with senior executives and business leaders to gain buy-in and embed data as a core business enabler. - Establish and oversee data governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. - Drive adoption of advanced analytics and AI/ML capabilities to unlock new insights for members and stakeholders. - Mentor and uplift internal teams, fostering a culture of data excellence and continuous improvement. About You - Proven track record of leading enterprise-scale data platform uplifts in complex organisations. - Strong background in building and running a Data CoE, with experience defining operating models, processes, and engagement frameworks. - Exceptional stakeholder management skills, able to secure executive and business buy-in for data initiatives. - Deep expertise across data engineering, data governance, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), and modern data architectures. - Strategic thinker with the ability to align data strategy to business outcomes in a regulated environment such as financial services, insurance, or health.
