Location: Ahmedabad or Chennai Industry: Renewable Energy (Solar, Wind, Battery Energy Storage Systems - BESS) Role Overview Kintech GreenUrja Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a seasoned and strategic Head of Supply Chain Management to oversee our global and domestic supply chain operations. As the company expands its footprint in Solar, Wind, and BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems), you will be responsible for building a resilient, scalable, and cost-effective supply chain. This is a leadership role requiring a deep understanding of the renewable energy ecosystem, from specialized component sourcing to complex project logistics. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership & Planning • Develop and execute a comprehensive SCM strategy aligned with the company’s growth in Solar PV, Wind energy, and Battery storage. • Forecast long-term material requirements based on project pipelines to ensure zero downtime in execution. • Optimize the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for major equipment, including modules, turbines, and battery cells. 2. Specialized Procurement & Sourcing • Lead the procurement of high-value technical assets: • Solar: High-efficiency PV modules, central/string inverters, and mounting structures, single Axis Tracker. • Wind: WTG, Turbine components, sensors, and specialized data components. • Battery (BESS): Lithium-ion cells/packs, Battery Management Systems (BMS), and thermal management hardware. • Manage procurement for critical electrical infrastructure, including Power Transformers, SCADA systems, and Grid-connected hardware. 3. Global Vendor & OEM Management • Establish and manage strategic partnerships with Tier-1 OEMs and international vendors. • Oversee the vendor qualification process, ensuring all partners meet rigorous quality, safety, and compliance standards. • Lead high-stakes negotiations for long-term supply agreements and Framework Contracts. 4. Logistics, Warehousing & Distribution • Oversee complex logistics for over-dimensional cargo (ODC) common in Wind and Solar projects. • Manage multi-location warehousing strategies to support projects across different geographies. • Ensure seamless integration between supply chain and site-level deployment teams for timely material delivery. 5. Compliance, Risk & Contract Management • Work closely with the Legal team to manage NDAs, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), and 'work made for hire' contracts for custom engineering solutions. • Mitigate supply chain risks, including global shipping volatility, commodity price fluctuations, and regulatory changes in the RE sector. • Ensure all procurement activities adhere to internal policies and statutory compliance requirements. Required Qualifications & Experience • Experience: Minimum 12–15 years in Supply Chain Management, with at least 5–7 years in a senior leadership role within the Renewable Energy (Solar/Wind/BESS) sector. • Education: B.E./B.Tech (Electrical/Mechanical) and an MBA in Supply Chain Management or International Trade. • Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Solar/Wind/Battery BOM (Bill of Materials) and technical specifications (CAD/SLDs/GA drawings). • Familiarity with Import/Export regulations, Customs duties (BCD/ALMM), and international logistics. • Leadership: Proven track record of managing large teams and delivering complex projects under tight deadlines. Technical Proficiencies • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) for inventory and payroll process integration. • Ability to interpret technical documentation including energy yield reports, power studies, and system architecture.
