About the Role The Head – Procurement will lead the end-to-end procurement function for the Gandhinagar manufacturing facility. This role requires strategic sourcing expertise, strong vendor development capabilities, cost optimization mindset, and the ability to build a resilient and scalable supply chain to support a high-growth, customized manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational growth plans. • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for raw materials, packaging, consumables, machinery, and indirect spend. • Identify cost-saving opportunities through negotiation, alternate sourcing, value engineering, and contract optimization. • Build long-term sourcing strategies for domestic and international suppliers. Vendor Development & Management • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and cost competitiveness. • Establish performance metrics (OTIF, quality, cost, responsiveness) and conduct regular supplier performance reviews. • Develop alternate supplier base to mitigate supply risks. • Drive supplier partnerships for innovation and continuous improvement. Cost Optimization & Budget Management • Drive annual cost reduction targets and procurement efficiency initiatives. • Monitor market trends, commodity fluctuations, and pricing benchmarks. • Lead negotiations for high-value contracts and long-term agreements. • Ensure effective working capital management through optimized inventory planning. Operational Excellence • Ensure uninterrupted supply of materials to support production schedules. • Collaborate closely with Production, Planning, Quality, and Finance teams. • Strengthen procurement processes, SOPs, and compliance frameworks. • Leverage ERP systems for demand planning, vendor management, and reporting. Compliance & Governance • Ensure statutory compliance and adherence to company procurement policies. • Implement robust internal controls and audit mechanisms. • Drive ethical sourcing and sustainable procurement practices. Team Leadership • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing procurement team. • Foster a culture of accountability, performance orientation, and continuous improvement. • Develop succession planning and capability enhancement initiatives. Key Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Supply Chain / Commerce; MBA in Supply Chain or Operations preferred. • 12–18 years of progressive experience in procurement, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role. • Experience in manufacturing, print, packaging, textile, or customized production environments preferred. • Strong negotiation, analytical, and strategic planning skills. • Proven track record of cost optimization and supplier development. • Experience managing large procurement spends and multiple vendor portfolios. • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Keka/Spine or equivalent).
