Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Partnering • Develop long-term manpower strategy for shipping operations and shipbuilding yard projects. • Plan and execute recruitment strategies for marine engineers, naval architects, yard supervisors, technical workforce, and support staff. · Shaping the work environment to influence employee behavior and managing organizational transitions. 2. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition • Lead the complete hiring lifecycle including role structuring, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding. • Recruit and mobilize skilled and semi-skilled yard workforce including contract and project-based teams. • Establish partnerships with maritime institutes, technical institutes, and ex-defense talent pools. 3. Training & Development · Conducting training needs analysis, Organizing orientation, compliance training, soft skills and leadership workshops, Partnering with external trainers when necessary • Promote discipline, safety culture, and operational excellence. 4. Performance & Organizational Development • Implementing performance appraisal systems • Assisting managers with goal-setting frameworks (OKRs/KPIs) • Documenting performance improvement plans, • Facilitating career growth discussions and promotions 5. Compensation & Benefits: Administering payroll, leave management, and benefits programs. 6. Administration & Facility Management • Oversee administrative functions including yard facilities, office management, security, statutory registers, and vendor coordination. • Ensure compliance with labor laws, maritime regulations, and industrial safety norms. • Coordinate with local authorities and regulatory bodies as required. 7. Compliance & Governance • Ensure adherence to labor laws, industrial safety standards, and maritime workforce regulations. • Maintain documentation readiness for audits and inspections. 8. HR Operations & Systems • Design and implement robust HR policies, SOPs, and MIS systems. • Oversee employee records, compliance documentation, attendance, leave, and payroll systems. • Digitize HR processes where feasible. 9. Industrial Relations & Workforce Discipline • Manage employee relations across operational and yard environments. • Handle grievance redressal, disciplinary frameworks, and conflict resolution. • Build a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork. Ideal Candidate Profile • MBA / PGDM in HR, Industrial Relations, or equivalent qualification. • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in HR & Administration, preferably in shipping, shipbuilding, heavy engineering, infrastructure, or manufacturing sectors. • Ex-Armed Forces candidates with industrial HR experience will be given preference.
