Description Fieldpiece Instruments, a privately held US company, is hiring a Human Resources Business Partner to open our new office in Hyderabad, Telangana. Reporting to the CHRO in the US, you’ll be the first and only HR professional in India and be responsible for building this office from the ground up – managing the office, working with a local service firm for payroll and compliance, and partnering with US-based managers to hire 20+ high-caliber technical professionals in the first year. This is a founding HR Business Partner opportunity. If you’ve successfully built and scaled India operations for a US-based company before — and know exactly what “day zero to structured growth” looks like — we want to speak with you. This role is ideal for a confident, strategic, execution-focused HR leader who thrives in ambiguity, builds structure, and enjoys partnering across time zones. What You Will Own Build the India HR Foundation and Office • Partner with local HR/payroll vendors and legal counsel to develop India-specific HR policies to ensure full compliance with Indian labor laws, statutory requirements, and local regulations and alignment with global standards and Fieldpiece values • Act as a trusted advisor to the US-based CHRO and leadership team – aligning India talent strategy with global business objectives • Implement HR systems and processes Scale the Hyderabad Team • Participate in workforce planning with US and India leadership to hire ~22 professionals in the first year (engineering, software, QA, technical roles) • Build strong recruiting pipelines and employer branding locally • Drive structured onboarding and performance processes • Establish a high-performance, inclusive culture and drive engagement initiatives and retention strategies • Coach managers and leaders and serve as the go-to HR partner for all employee relations matters Qualifications What You Bring • 10+ years in HR, including senior HR Business Partner or HR Leader roles • Proven experience building or scaling India operations for a US or multinational company with a focus on engineering or technology • Expertise in Telangana employment law and statutory compliance • Experience managing a new office and HR operations as the sole HR leader • Fluent, professional English (written and verbal) • Experience with Workday or other global HCM platforms
