Role Description This is a part-time, remote freelance / contract role as a Java Backend Developer with expertise in PHP and over 9 years of experience. The professional will be responsible for developing, testing, and deploying backend applications using Java and PHP, implementing microservices architecture, and utilizing the Spring Framework to create efficient, scalable solutions. The role will also involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products in a timely manner. Job Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Laravel / Symfony and Spring Boot. Collaborate with frontend developers and product teams to deliver high-quality applications. Build RESTful APIs and ensure seamless integration between services. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices. Optimize performance and troubleshoot complex application issues. Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and sprint planning. Integrate third-party services and APIs as required. Ensure security and data protection compliance across systems. Technical Skills Required: Core: Strong proficiency in PHP (Laravel or Symfony) Solid experience with Java (Spring / Spring Boot) Strong understanding of OOP, MVC architecture, and design patterns. Additional Skills: Good knowledge of MySQL / PostgreSQL Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and microservice architecture Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (React / Vue preferred) Experience with Git, CI / CD pipelines, and Docker Knowledge of AWS / Azure / GCP is a plus Understanding of unit testing and automated testing frameworks.
