A Jewellery Salesperson's Job Description (JD) involves assisting customers with selecting jewellery, providing expert product knowledge (metals, gems, designs), meeting sales targets, processing transactions, maintaining attractive displays, handling customer inquiries/issues, managing stock, and building client relationships to ensure a premium, satisfying shopping experience. Key responsibilities include upselling, explaining certifications, offering customization, and post-sale follow-ups, requiring strong communication, sales skills, and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities • Customer Engagement: Greet customers, understand needs, offer personalized advice, assist with trials/sizing, and build rapport. • Sales & Targets: Achieve individual and store sales goals, promote products, upsell, and process transactions accurately (POS). • Product Expertise: Maintain deep knowledge of jewellery types, purity, gemstones, trends, and care instructions. • Showroom Management: Ensure displays are clean, attractive, well-organized, and updated. • Inventory: Assist with stock counts, manage inventory, and handle product movement. • Problem Solving: Handle complaints, returns, and inquiries professionally, offering solutions like exchanges or repairs. • Client Relations: Follow up with clients post-purchase to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business. Essential Skills & Qualifications • Experience: Previous sales, ideally in luxury or jewellery retail. • Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and CRM skills. • Attributes: Passion for sales, strong ethics, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and trustworthiness. • Technical: Familiarity with POS systems and inventory software.
