Junior Analyst

You are being sought after for the role of a detail-oriented Junior Analyst who can comprehend financial statements, including Balance sheets, P&L statements, and Cashflow statements, from a document classification perspective. Your responsibilities will include reviewing financial documents and aligning them with a predefined taxonomy. You are expected to ensure the accuracy of the classification and maintain the document taxonomy. Key Responsibilities: - Financial document ingestion & preprocessing: - Acquire and catalog S&P financial documents (PDF/HTML/XLS/XBRL-like exports) with a focus on version control and traceability of document attributes such as date, entity, period, currency, and consolidation scope. - Develop and maintain ingestion pipelines (batch and/or incremental) while capturing metadata like issuer identifiers, report type, fiscal period, and source lineage. - Mapping with existing Taxonomy: - Associate each extracted element with a taxonomy concept ensuring clear definition alignment. - Handle mapping complexities like many-to-one mappings, one-to-many mappings, and entity-specific reporting labels. - Uphold a mapping repository (mapping table + business rules) for reuse across entities and time, along with documenting data lineage and controls. - Governance, controls, and stakeholder management: - Collaborate closely with financial analysts / SMEs for IFRS/US GAAP interpretation, data governance teams for definitions and quality thresholds, and engineering/platform teams for storage and orchestration. Qualifications Required: - Background in Data Science with experience in data exploration and data mapping projects. - Understanding of Taxonomy Concepts, including knowledge of financial taxonomies such as XBRL and IFRS for accurate mapping of financial data. - Proficiency in Dimensional Modeling to create and manage data models reflecting relationships between financial metrics and dimensions. - Familiarity with Python technologies and AI frameworks that can be utilized for development and automation.
