Job Title: Lead Data Scientist - Credit Risk Modelling Location: Gurgaon / Bangalore Department: Risk and Data Science About Us: Turno (Brand of Blubble Pvt Ltd) is an Electric Vehicle company that helps operators of commercial vehicles to switch to EVs. Turbo's mission is to transition gasoline miles to electric miles in India. Key Responsibilities: ● Market Research - Exploration of the Market to identify opportunities for Alternate Data like SMS, Payments, Contact Book, Social Media, etc. that can be used in Lending. ● Vendor Evaluation and Integration - Evaluation of vendors providing alternate data and supporting its integration into Turno’s Ecosystem, and enabling its usage in lending strategy. ● Risk Strategy Support: Work closely with the sales, product, risk, and operations teams to analyse customer behaviour, identify sustainable growth opportunities while maintaining risk, and recommend strategies to increase customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value. ● Predictive Risk Modelling: Develop predictive models for loan default prediction, collection propensity to improve business decisions and improve profitability. ● Customer Segmentation: Build advanced customer segmentation models based on behavioural, transactional, and demographic data to support targeted business strategies and personalized product offerings. ● A/B Testing & Experimentation: Design and execute A/B tests and multivariate experiments to evaluate product and business strategies, ensuring decisions are data-driven and aligned with business objectives. ● Automation & Optimization: Leverage data science to automate processes, optimize decision-making workflows, and improve operational efficiency across customer acquisition and servicing. ● Collaboration with Stakeholders: Communicate findings and insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders, translating complex data into actionable business strategies. ● Funnel Analytics: Lead Analytics effort to improve funnel without compromising on the risk. Assess the impact of risk strategy to help build sustainable. Technical Skills: ● Experience in understanding and improving lending metrics such as vintage curve, Roll Rates, Bounces and improving lending funnel like washout/identifying Product Market Fit, improving resale value, collection resolution etc. ● Proficiency in ML Techniques like Logistic Regression, Clustering, XGBoost Models, Survival Models, and advanced feature engineering and model evaluation techniques. ● Proficient in Python and SQL. ● Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) and MS Excel. ● Well-versed in API development(Flask APIs and Fast APIs framework). ● Strong mathematical ability. ● Proficiency in Advanced ML Techniques like Neural Network, LLM - Good to have but not mandatory. Qualifications: ● Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field. ● Experience: 5-6 years of experience in data science role, with a focus on growth, customer acquisition, or marketing in a fintech or banking industry. ● The ideal candidate should have worked on data-backed strategies to improve lending business funnel, collection and risk.
