Lead I – Backend Engineer

Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable backend systems for an MLOps platform. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in Python-based backend development, cloud-native architectures on AWS, and CI/CD-driven delivery in production environments. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain production-grade backend services using Python • Build APIs and backend components using modern Python web frameworks • Deploy and operate services in cloud-based environments (AWS preferred) • Implement asynchronous and concurrent processing using AsyncIO • Write unit, integration, and functional tests to ensure high-quality code • Participate in production support and on-call rotations • Collaborate with distributed, cross-functional teams including ML, DevOps, and Platform Engineering • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds and deployments Mandatory Skills & Experience • 5+ years of professional experience in backend development using Python • Strong experience with Flask, Django, or FastAPI • Hands-on experience with WSGI/ASGI web servers (Gunicorn, Uvicorn, etc.) • Solid understanding of asynchronous and concurrent programming (AsyncIO) • Experience with unit and functional testing frameworks • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) • Strong exposure to CI/CD tools and best practices • Experience supporting live production systems • Strong collaboration skills for working with distributed teams Nice-to-Have Skills • Experience with Apache Kafka and Python-based Kafka clients • Exposure to MLOps platforms such as AWS SageMaker, Kubeflow, or MLflow • Experience with big data frameworks, especially Apache Spark • Familiarity with container orchestration platforms (AWS ECS, AWS EKS) • Experience with DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Jenkins) • Knowledge of Python packaging and distribution tools (Wheel, PEX, Conda) Interview Process • 2 Technical Rounds • 1 Final Stakeholder/Client Round Additional Notes • Strong job stability is mandatory • Candidates must be willing to work in a hybrid model from Hyderabad
