The Lead - Procurement will play a pivotal role in driving the procurement strategy for AdaniConneX’s data center projects, ensuring alignment with the business unit’s vision of building a 1GW environmentally and socially conscious data center infrastructure platform by 2030. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement processes, vendor development, and technical evaluations across mechanical, electrical, civil, and services domains. The position supports the delivery of digital infrastructure at scale, with speed and safety, leveraging Adani Group’s expertise in mega-structure construction and EdgeConneX’s global benchmarks in data center operations. Educational Background - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) or a related field. - MBA or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain Management or Operations (preferred). Years & Type of Experience - 10+ years of experience in procurement roles with a focus on large-scale infrastructure or data center projects. - Demonstrated ability to manage complex procurement processes and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. Domain Expertise - In-depth knowledge of procurement processes and vendor management in the data center or infrastructure sector. - Familiarity with global standards and best practices in procurement for mechanical, electrical, and civil domains. - Experience in implementing sustainable procurement practices aligned with organizational goals. Key Responsibilities - Develop and execute procurement strategies for data center projects, ensuring alignment with AdaniConneX’s operational and strategic goals. - Manage vendor selection, development, and evaluation processes to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and timely delivery of goods and services. - Conduct technical evaluations for mechanical, electrical, civil, and services-related procurement to ensure compliance with project specifications and global standards. - Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to forecast procurement needs and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions. - Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors, ensuring favorable terms and adherence to AdaniConneX’s quality and safety standards. - Implement procurement best practices, leveraging digital tools and analytics to enhance efficiency and transparency in the procurement process. - Monitor and manage procurement budgets, ensuring cost optimization without compromising on quality or timelines. - Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams and external suppliers, to drive collaboration and innovation. - Ensure adherence to sustainability goals in procurement activities, supporting AdaniConneX’s commitment to environmentally conscious operations. - Provide regular reports and insights to the Head Techno Commercial on procurement performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvement. Required Qualifications & Experience - Proven experience of 10-17 years in procurement management, preferably in data center, infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects. - Expertise in vendor management, technical evaluation, and procurement processes across mechanical, electrical, civil, and services domains. - Robust negotiation skills and experience in managing high-value contracts and supplier relationships.
