Position: Logistics & Inventory Head Experience: 5+ Years Role Overview: The Head – Logistics & Inventory will be responsible for managing day-to-day logistics operations and inventory control across warehouses. The role includes vendor management, rate negotiations, team supervision, MIS reporting, and ensuring smooth movement and availability of materials. Key Responsibilities: Logistics • Manage end-to-end logistics operations including dispatches, deliveries, and transportation planning. • Identify, introduce, and onboard new logistics vendors and transporters as required. • Negotiate freight rates and commercial terms with logistics vendors to optimize costs. • Monitor transporter performance and resolve delivery-related issues and escalations. • Prepare and share logistics MIS reports with management on a regular. Inventory & Warehouse • Monitor stock levels at warehouses on a daily basis. • Track upcoming stock, inward material, and planned dispatches to ensure uninterrupted supply. • Ensure proper coordination between warehouse, logistics, and accounts teams. • Oversee inventory movement, stock accuracy, and physical verification as required. • Minimize stock shortages, excess inventory, and ageing materials. • Coordinate operations across multiple warehouses to ensure seamless material movement. Team Management & Coordination • Supervise, train, and allocate work to logistics and inventory team members. • Ensure discipline, accountability, and adherence to company processes. • Act as a single point of contact between logistics, warehouse, and management. Process, Systems & Compliance • Develop and implement SOPs for logistics and inventory operations. • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, safety standards, and internal controls. • Drive system accuracy for GRN, stock transfers, dispatches, and invoicing coordination. • Identify and implement process improvements and automation initiatives. • Develop and maintain real-time inventory dashboards to provide accurate stock visibility & movement tracking. • Monitor and control demurrage, detention, and rejection charges through proactive planning & coordination. • Freight budget planning & quarterly cost reviews (ownership of logistics cost as % of sales)
