ROLE PURPOSE OBJECTIVE • Manager-Credit Policy-Agri lending position is accountable for designing implementation of robust credit policy and process for Rural business and managing the execution of technology driven credit underwriting process. • The role is responsible to ensure credit policies and processes are followed effectively by sourcing staffs, appraising officers, approving authorities and imparting training to Branch team, Credit team on Rural banking product policies, processes and systems, including regular trainings on changes / refreshers. • SIZE OF THE ROLE FINANCIAL SIZE NON-FINANCIAL SIZE • 500 Cr asset Portfolio at PAN India level to be managed • Implement the products in new geography and scale up underwriting of Agri products • Number of vendors / consultants • All fintech partners, technical vendors and BCs associated/ to be associated with Rural banking • Manage credit function for all RB products across regions • Manage monthly disbursement of 15 Cr (Over 160 Cr Projected for the FY) • KEY DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE • Business/ Financials • Design credit policies for Rural banking products and review on regular basis • Understanding of the underlying risks associated the segment to design the Policy and Processes • Monitor credit granting process and ensure adherence to the laid down policies procedures • Conduct periodic credit reviews of disbursed cases and keep informed to management on the observations • Keep track of policy deviations and measure performance of rural banking products • Review portfolio performance with business team for policy changes • Ensure monitoring aspects of the products are taken care at regular interval • Ensuring preparation of BRD for implementation of new products or process and test cases for UAT • Ensuring UAT of new products and process is done to ensure errors are not faced by the end users • To appraise high value cases and provide the recommendation to the next approval authority. • Customer (Both Internal External) • Ensuring branch visits/operating geographies are done at regular intervals to ensure correct policy and process implementation and thereby monitoring the same. • Ensuring queries raised or Technical errors raised by Branches/field staff/other departments (Rural banking/SQ/Audit/IT) are resolved in a timely manner • Engage with customers and branch staffs for any feedback on the products, policy and process • Address branch and regional teams queries/concerns on policy/process or documentation guidelines to be followed • Internal Process • Publishing key MIS at regular intervals • Design and standardize Credit appraisal memos and other documents pertaining to Rural banking loans • Suggest approval guidelines for exceptional cases recommended by Branch/ Credit staff • To analyse the quality of the customers onboarded with the help of various primary and secondary data • To ensure and monitoring the correct adherence of Delegation of Authority across all products • Publishing deviation analysis of all Rural banking loans and monitoring the cases where deviations are taken • Sample checks of disbursed cases to ensure policy and processes are followed as specified in the policy • Maintaining and publishing master certification list of all Rural Banking products at regular intervals and ensuring re certification of employees whose certification has been expired or due to expire • Ensuring all training materials are updated on a timely basis or as and when the policy is updated • Ensuring policy manuals are updated on a timely manner and must ensure that process defined in the policy manual is followed across all regional teams. • To conduct periodical visits to the regional offices for ensuring adherence of policy/process by the reporting team • To manage back end process related to security updation in LMS and LOS, periodical revaluation of the properties as per banks collateral management policy • To manage and support collections by co-ordinating for issuance of various notices and to provide the update on legal actions initiated on default customers. • To ensure AOD is being obtained for all the customers as per defined timelines. • To attend and furnish required data for any types of audit/inspections that are carried out periodically and ensure closure of observations • Innovation Learning • Maintain up to date knowledge of all the products and their policy • Timely completion of E-Learning modules assigned to the role • Upgrade self and branch team about changes happening in the market • Preparation of training materials covering new policy or process change • Ensure necessary feedback is given to supervisors on regular basis about the credit policies, processes and systems for effective and efficient underwriting • Improve the probing skills to identify any issues in the field and report critical findings / observations for necessary action. • Work in close co-ordination with team members, participate in discussion to improve back-end processes and activities.
