1. JOB OVERVIEW, JOB BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Piramal Foundation is seeking a communications professional to lead and execute Strategic & Institutional Communications for the organisation. This role will anchor the Foundation’s narrative and drive cohesive, high-impact communication across platforms. Working closely with the of Communications, the role will translate leadership vision into a clear communication architecture and ensure end-to-end execution across programs and teams—strengthening the Foundation’s institutional voice, credibility with partners and donors, and external influence. The role will span driving high-quality content and creative storytelling across formats, strengthening digital presence, driving public relations, thought leadership, external engagement and events, and responding dynamically to communication needs across programs and teams. KEY RESPONSBILITIES & DUTIES 2.1 Lead Communication Strategy & Institutional Positioning - 20% a. Translate Communication Director’s vision into annual and quarterly communication strategy b. Anchor narrative architecture (positioning, message, communication outputs) and execution (across platforms, channels, content, resources and monitoring) c. Lead cross-functional planning with various stakeholders to align messaging and execution 2.2 Ensure Quality & Strategic Influence - 20% a. Own quality assurance for high-leverage outputs (board decks, donor briefs, leadership notes, strategic presentations) b. Strengthen executive communications and thought leadership; ensuring clarity, coherence, and institutional credibility c. Track and improve reputation and influence metrics through dashboards, insight loops, and periodic reviews 2.3 Manage Communications & Talent - 40% a. Build Communication products and team capability in storytelling, analytics, and structured execution b. Coach performance, provide feedback, and coach toward higher quality standards c. Foster cross-functional collaboration and shared meaning-making 2.4 Build Communication Systems & Governance - 10% a. Institutionalise communication processes, approval workflows, and brand governance b. Strengthen dashboards and reporting mechanisms for leadership visibility c. Align organisational resources to deliver communication priorities at scale 2.5 Leadership Narrative & Institutional Voice -10% a. Shape and steward the leadership narrative of the Foundation across internal and external platforms b. Ensure that institutional messaging reflects the Foundation’s long-term philosophy and credibility in the development ecosystem 3. SKILLS AND ABILITIES · Strong strategic communication and narrative building capability · Ability to manage multi-platform communication portfolios · Experience in crafting high-quality communication assets, creative & publications, website, digital, & social initiatives, driving thought leadership ATTRIBUTES · Passionate about shaping institutional impact and voice · Reflective, humble, excellence-driven · Able to operate in ambiguous, high-stakes environments; entrepreneurial and systems-oriented EXPERIENCE · Manager (5–8 years) / Sr Manager (7–10 years) in communications, corporate communications, consulting, public policy, social or development sector · Experience leading communication strategy and managing teams preferred.
