Job Purpose: The Product Manager for Royal Enfield Global Product Strategy (GPS) will lead the creation of global product strategies and plans. The role, along with the global product strategy team, defines and shapes future product portfolios for the business globally. Working with brand, sales, marketing, industrial design, design engineering, supply chain development, programme management and finance, the role holder will support the product manager to create product plans that engage the customers, deliver strong financial returns, and meet or exceed all regulatory requirements. The role provides the necessary analysis and support to make key strategic decisions in the area of long-term product forecasting in all regions of the globe. Position Overview: Location: Chennai Position Title: Manager - Product Planning Reports to: Head - Group Manager- Product Strategy & Industrial Design Function : Global Product Strategy What you’ll do: • Manage a family of products within the company range, delivering the strategic product objectives for development; including feature requirements, pricing and volumes. • Identifying brand and customer requirements; translating these requirements into deliverable engineering metrics to ensure successful product developments. • Ensuring contents and features are innovative, competitive, maximize profit on the product and sustained business growth. • Analyzing market and competitive conditions and laying out a product vision that is differentiated and delivers unique value based on customer demands. • Carry out extensive research into the market, customers, their desires and their problems and curate ideas to fulfill the value proposition for the product line and business. • Define and represent the product roadmap. The Product Manager owns the master list of possible changes to the product, and is responsible for representing the rationale behind prioritization. • Communicate product positioning, features and benefits to internal and external audiences such as our marketing and sales teams, creative agencies, media, dealers and consumers. • Develop business cases and volume assessments for your product using rigorous research and analytics in the automotive and motorcycle industries. • Develop and maintain a Competitive Product database. • Develop Project Definitions, defining project targets, scope and timelines. • Evaluate engineering prototypes at various stages of development. • Work with brand & marketing to coordinate product launch plans including timing, pricing, product materials, talking points, training, etc. • Write user stories with detailed requirements and clear acceptance criteria. • Be responsible for the assigned model(s), cradle to grave, and all lifecycle planning actions - from advanced planning (full model changes) to launch of each model year. • Ensure implementation of "buildable" product configurations during the planning phase of each new vehicle. Ensure the final consistency & correctness of the product specifications prior to the launch phase of the product. • Determine, implement and communicate model year change points, including sales configurations, throughout the lifecycle of the product. • Determine build-out strategies for each model year and end of the product life cycle. • Timely release of all Product Strategy documentation to allow product launches to happen in accordance to the product plan. • Prepare the calendar for consumer interactions/observations and adhere to the same. • Expedite various Product Strategy initiatives while ensuring clear and concise communication. What you'll bring: Experience: 7+ years’ experience with at least 3+ years in any manufacturing or product based industry. Qualification: Must have a Bachelors’ Degree. MBA with a strong focus on marketing or product management will be advantageous.
